Here’s Why Moving a Piano Requires the Services of Perth Piano Movers

There are several situations in this world that perfectly demonstrate the phrase, “a disaster waiting to happen”. Examples would be leaving the gas stove on and playing with matches near flammable substances, to name a few. Given the fragility of moving heavy objects, it’s safe to say that you could add “moving a piano” to that list. While not every moving task really needs professional help, moving a piano from point A to point B definitely requires expert assistance. A piano is one of the most cumbersome objects you’ll ever see, and moving it can be physically difficult. Furthermore, the risks that come with such an endeavour are very possible; one wrong move and you could injure yourself or your loved ones, and significantly damage the instrument and your home.

Busting Out a Tune: Tips on Moving Your Piano

Pianos are considered luxurious items, for both their value and the wondrous melodies they can produce. They also happen to be quite large, and can be extremely bulky and difficult to move around. If you have a piano of your own, it might be a good idea to keep a few tips in mind so that you can move the instrument with ease.

Before moving your piano, you might want to have it entirely wrapped in blankets or padding for extra protection. Its keys, corners and lid, in particular need to be properly secured as they are some of the more fragile parts of the instrument. Packing tape will be an indispensable tool in keeping a piano wrapped and evenly protected on all sides. Other equipment that will come useful in moving the instrument include heavy duty straps and a dolly to load the piano on.

Moving a piano should not be done alone, especially since the instruments are not known for being lightweight. Consider having an able-bodied family member or a friend to help you move. The better option would be to leave the task entirely to a professional piano mover. Such contractors not only have experience handling the delicate instruments, but should also have all the equipment needed to safely carry and transport pianos.
